This doesn't seem necessary. I salute all military personnel, but there's a huge difference between being on the front lines and sitting in a cushioned office chair.

I gotta hand it to NPR... their cartoonist got the finer points of the uniform right, like enlisted lapel brass, medal placement, etc.
