I just hate it when this happens

.
Some assweasel, who thinks he's cute, made a general statement about California.

Okay okay okay okay... maybe I'm being just a little harsh. The poor schmuck dwoofl is in L.A.

All I'm really saying is he should get out a little more. There are quite a few of us here in California who wonder if our votes are even counted.

Oh, yeah, about this Prelutsky guy, he wrote some books. One of them is Liberals: America’s Termites (It’s A Shame that Liberals, Unlike Hamsters, Never Eat Their Young). He really shouldn't make general statements about hamsters, either.

has already been used above. Can you use it in a different context?

  1. A dwoofl must be an owl gone barking mad.

  2. Ummm. Our mileage most certainly varies, as I tend to agree with Mr. Prelutsky... and I voted with my feet back in 2002. I think there's sumthin' in the water out your way, IT, and it ain't good.

  3. I think you've touched on a nerve. There are a lot of Californians who don't live in the cities and don't particularly care to be lumped in with the urban masses and who sure as heck don't care to be judged by the politicians chosen by those urbanites and their suburban cousins.
Mr. Perlutsky is a funny man but his generalization, particularly since he's an Angeleno, really grates.
As for the hamster thing, it works the same way. Just because some hamsters eat their young doesn't mean they all do. (though I suppose they're capable).

Water has become a touchy subject, too. The urbanites want to move it, forgetting that it's needed to grow stuff.

  4. Carolina - I think maybe a dwoofl is someone who sits in the same place day after day imagining that everyone sees things as they do. Think Marie Antoinette.

  5. Hmmm, dwoofls tend to lose their heads? Did you know Marie Antoinette had a sister who was called Carolina? And if that isn't interesting information; what is! ;-)

  6. Dwooful is in the Dwarf book of weights and measures. Ala "take two dwoofuls and call me in the morning"

  7. You're right, Ivan... about the large numbers of Red State voters held captive by the Big City enclaves of El-Eh and SFO. I just got SO fed up with it all, what with working in the heart o' the Beast (SFO's Financial District), and having to listen to the inane chatter of NY Times readers every damned day as I rode into The City on BART. It wears ya down after a while.

Go ahead.
